Dynamics and Procedural Animation in Flash
This resource is provided as is, hopefully it will be useful for some Flash developer. Most probably it will just be a curiosity. The nerd factor is very high.
When I first came to Thailand I didn’t have much to do so I was going to set out on my own trying to work as a freelancer from home. However, I got my current programming gig and nothing came of it. I did manage to make a small shockwave though that was supposed to promote me.
Watch the result or download the sources:
Flash demo (compiled shockwave)
Don’t forget to drag the pressure gauge around a bit to see what happens with the cord to the slate.
The source is fairly documented but feel free to leave a comment if you want me to make a proper tutorial out of it. If enough people request it I might just comply…

Hi,
Could you please teach me how I use Action script files in Flash 8? I have downloaded all of them but the project is unfortunately not opening in my Flash application.

Raju: You have to link to the actionscript files in the fla file, In my example I think they are linked correctly if you put the files directly in C, like so: C:\asClasses. When that is done you should be able to compile the fla into a shockwave. This can be done by for instance using the short command CTRL + Enter. Hope that helped.

Hi. Love it! I can’t open the flash document because I get an unexpected file format error but the swf file looks great. I hope you follow it up with a tutorial and I’m working with flash 8 right now as I’m developing a webcomic with sci-fi tone to it. This or something similar would look great in one of my stories. Keep up the good work friend!

Cathy: I just downloaded and unzipped it, it works perfectly in Win XP anyway, I just use the built in functionality to open the zip, no WinZip or anything.
